Kewl. My son is now training on the Kadet Senior I built 25 years ago. The Monocote on the wing has gotten brittle and it is due for a recovering as soon as he finishes his training cycle, just in case. (No use to recover before he solos and tempt the evil RC gremlins.)
Plane is still solid. I am about to drop in the third engine. The used KB 40 died and was replaced many moons ago with a Saito 52 which is now in it's dotage. Just got a mount to drop in a Saito 72.
Crashed once when I didn't put enough rubber bands on the wing and it fell off. Wing floated down and front of fuse survived okay but the rear birdcage did a total rekit and was rebuilt. I covered the cage with some very light 1/16 balsa and it is solid as a rock.
Glad you guys are having so much fun reflying an old plane. Reminds me I need to put a new birdcage on my poor Seniorita soon. Receiver battery fizzled out and it saw a big tree and flew home to mother.
