Just thought some of you would like an update to the post I did on getting my brother a Kadet Senior for christmas that we will be building together.
Picked up the kit today at my LHS along with a brand new 4EX Futaba digital radio, and Super Tigre .45
And there is no way we will be able to put this build off until christmas, so we are considering it an early Xmas gift. It should still get us through the winter. We haven't decided if we are going to do a thread but if we were to it wouldnt be a complete step-by-step build, but would show the build as it progresses. Don't know if there would be any interest in that, the threads for beginner builds has seemed to have slacked a bit.

Do a thread in Kit Building. As this is in the Beginner forum I'm guessing that this is your first (or nearly first) build. (I didn't look at your original post - sorry). Start the thread as you're doing your planning. Tools, build tables, techniques, whatever you think of. There are many, many builders familiar with the Senior. Get their input. Take the bits and pieces from their input that you find appealing. Store the others away for future use. Take plenty of pictures and post 'em. This is a very "sharing" community - if you let them.
Best of luck with your kit!!!!!
PS - Oh, don't be afraid about start topic-specific threads in other forums to get the best input. Like - best practice on breaking in the Super Tigre 45.
The basic suggestions for the build just might include:<ul>[*]tail dragger (my favorite)[*]ailerons - Bob Nelson of SIGsuggests long 2" ailerons (strip) hung off the trailing edge of the wing. Use a larger piece of wood for the trailing edge if you do.[*]eliminate the rubber band wing attachment - take a chapter from the ARF. I did this on my Senior &LT-40.[*](depending on flying skills) reduce the dihedral of the wing.[*](depending on space in your vehicle) make it a 1-piece wing.[/list]Let the chaos begin ...

The Senior Kadet, in my opinion is the best Trainer out there. It's big, and it almost fly's itself, very gentle and forgiving plane.
I have 2 Seniors, there are ARF kits, one is on floats, the other is the Trike gear setup. You will love it when you are done building it.
I have a little advice for you, take it or leave it, but the ARF kits took about 8OZ, of lead in the cowl to balance. A friend of mine, in fact our club President just finished a kit build, and he had to put almost a pound of weight in the nose. The plane is way tail heavy in the Kit builds.
Another suggestion is going to an OS. 55AX or a 61, or a 91 4 stroker. You will have your hands full with a 46 in my opinion.Any option is up to you, but just a reminder, it's tail heavy from the get go.
