The reason for two clunks.....one clunked line to the carb of course....the other clunked line is for de-fueling at the end of the day. and goes to the fill line.....you don't have to have a clunk on the fill line...but if you don't then you have to tilt the tail of your airplane up to de-fuel the tank

Couldn't just leave it be. Took it apart and after playing around a bit it was my tuning that was the problem. I hooked up a 2 line fuel tank to it and it was doing the same thing. The low speed needle was really rich and it was loading up and dying. Now I have the clunkers right and the hoses where they should be
Was an old Enya 45 that came with e cap 232 I just bought. I think it was because I put the pitts muffler on her that her tune was so far off. Going the leave the cowl off and take her to the filed hopefully this weekend and let it really run for a while before taking it up.
Thanks again for all your replies on this...

Got tired of driving myself bonkers on fuel and muffler lines so here is what I now do. Got 2 different colors of tubing. Red is for fuel and blue for pressure line.

ShaneT, in one of your posts, you mentioned that "now the cowl goes back on" what did you mean? I have the Escapade and there is no cowl??????? [&o]

Hi!
Sounds as if you have a "Uni-flow" tank set up!
If you have been around long enough you will know that this tank set up is the best there is, next only to a Tettra "Bubbleless" tank!
The Uni-flow" tank uses two clunks! One clunk goes to the carb and the other to the silencer nipple for pressure. The third fuel line goes up and serves as the filler line and overflow line, this line must be shut when you have filled the tank!
The reason for using two clunks in a tank is for getting a more even fuel pressure to the carb! A one clunk tank cannot provide that!
