The blue or pink foam that you can buy from Lowes has a thin backing on one side that is printed. Does anyone know how to remove that film?

I deleted the picture because it was so big. Don't know what I am doing wrong. That has never happened before.

Picture size isn't your fault.
Sometimes the server working your input just screws up. Very seldom, but it happens.
If you come back in awhile, and get a different server handling your input, you can edit the picture into the post and excellent chance it'll be worked properly.

Hey Gene
My 7" hand held grinder really takes the backing off. In fact, I can hold the foam up and see through it.

Great advice.
But if you simply pull it from one corner it peals off.

It'll all be off in less time than it would take to setup the grinder, get out the pruning shears, go get the shovel, find the machete, prepare the demolition charges, put fresh 80grit in the sanding block, or open the can of hydrochloric acid.

BTW, I use it for lots of things.
When I make boxes to go inside a model, it gets removed so the canopy glue will hold better. It's great for a LiPo box in an electric. It can be made to fit "exactly" and hold securely in every direction but one, and a velcro closes that off nicely. My last glo engine model had it's 4.8V battery pack positioned in the aft fuselage in a foam box. I wanted the pack back there to position the CG, but didn't want to add much weight. win win
I also make building stands with the stuff. The protective film is great on the very bottom, but gets stripped everywhere else.
