Default Super Stick 60 Question

I have a Hobbico Hobbistar Select 60 plane and would like to use everything from the Hobbico into Super Stick. Will the parts be compable fot the Stick? This includes motor and servos.

Well, the engine, if it's compatible, meaning if it is within the size range for the Select 60, then that's not an issue. As far as the servos are concerned.. well, again, depends on the needs of the new plane... but for the most part, the servos are interchangeable and should work. The main point is if the servos are within the needed specs for the new plane.. mainly with regard to the torque.

List your engine and servo types and we can give you more info.

Looking at the specs provided by Tower Hobby on the Hobbistar, it has an OS 60 LA engine. These are not the most powerful of the 60 size engines.

It all really depends on how you intend to fly the Super Stick. Since the minimum size engine recommended for this plane is the .60, the OS 60 LA will give you basic performance, that is, it may not hover if that's your intent, and won't give you great vertical performance. But, it will fly ok.

If you want to hover with it.. well, go to the larger end size engine in the engine choices recommended for the Super Stick.

The servos should be fine.

The 65LA and standard servos from the Hobbistar should be fine for basic loops, rolls, etc.
In a magazine test, the 65LA outperformed the 61FX (by a very slight margin) using a 12x6 prop on both.

I put all the guts and engine from my hobbistar 60 (LA65) into a ultra stick 40 and it flew great. 60 a little heavier, but should be fine. Happy flying. 13x4w would great on that combo. Scoot

I would think for basic flying, it would work out just fine.
