Gee!! when is the weather going to give a guy a break

Just put 4 flights on the Cub with ski's off the lake. 24 degrees, no wind. Hardest part is getting thru some of the snow.. The homemade ski's are the first ones that I have everhad thatwork so well. Was suprized to find the ice in such poor shape, very mushy under the snow. Little spooky to lift my foot up and see the print fill with water. Last week it was -20 below, would think with all the cold we have had the ice would be better.

It was 65 on the coast, a little nippy. But tomorrow they forecast 74. Planes are on charge. T shirt and shorts at the flying field tomorrow.
Why do people give up 4 or 5 months a year of their lives when you're not hibernating bears?
I just got back from Virginia Beach, with a high of 30 the one day I was there.
It's good to be back home. I'm going down to the keys in my fishing boat, if we get another cold snap.
Anything below 60 bugs me.

Yeah...but how hot does it get during the Summer? I can't stand that 90+ stuff anymore...not to mention the humidity. I spent a week at a friends in Daytona several years back...late August...it was over 100 a few times...sheesh![X(]
I'm not a huge fan of the cold either...low 20's (F ) is cold enough for me to go out flying...
I also have a Gee Bee Sea Hawk, TT .42 GP powers it quite nicely. Those Gee Bee floats aren't the best looking, but the milk jug plastic that they're made of slides across the snow really "cool" like...

Yep, we have serious heat issues here in FL in the summer. That's my build time, July-August! You can still fly every morning comfortably until 10-11am. I wear a hat and bring lots of water.
Heat is uncomfortable, cold can be actually painful.
