The new fuel line I have from Great Planes is too stiff to alow the clunk to move from the bottom of the tank to the top when inverted.
Any reccomendatios for a more flrexable fuel line would be greately appreciated.

Hi dwreel,
The Dubro blue silicone tubing is quite flexible. It comes in small medium and large. All depends on what size fittings your clunk/tank/engine has. Hope this helps!

I had one that wouldn't move well enough once and I just flattened out a piece of lead and wrapped it around the end. The tank was like that for 2 years and it worked like a charm.

Ah ha.. making your own leaded gas!!! Shame on you..
Ok..ok.

I bought about five feet of several sizes of tubing from the LHS before they closed down. It was all Dubro. What's nice about it is that it not only is perfect and perfectly flexible for inside the tank, but I also use small pieces of it to wrap around my clevis' on all control surfaces (both ends) as keepers. Once, way back, I lost a Skylark 56 because the elevator clevis came undone in flight because I forgot to slide the rubber keeper over the clevis to keep it closed.
That won't happen again. So, fuel tubing has other uses!! And, the more flexible the better.

heavier clunk...or a weight.....or smaller diameter tube......what ever you do make sure the tube moves freely...make sure that the clunk isn't getting stuck on the back of the tank.

Adding a piece of brass tubing in the middle of the clunk line will ensure that it can't get stuck in the front of the tank.

You just solved a problem I have had for 2 years on my Tiger 2...Every now and again after a long dive it tries to run lean when I level. The clunk was sticking. I got used to pulling about 10 G's at the bottom of a dive to ensure it pops back to the rear of the tank again.
Thank You......
Curtis
