Hi y'all,
I'm trying to set up flaperon on my Strega 40 using Hitec Aurora 9 2.4GHz. I've set up the flaperon and assigned a left slider on it, both servos work but the move in the same direction while moving left slider up and down. Also when I move aileron stick, they are moving in the same direction.
For ailerons, I was going to use Y-harness on one channel. My mentor told me you need to use 2 channels for aileron separately and one should be for flaps and then you may use it as aileron as flaperon. The receiver I'm using is Hitec Optima 7 2.4GHz, my mentor does not know himself about setting up the flaperon. As I mentioned that the servos should move clockwise and counter clockwise for aileron. I'm really not sure how to set it up, or do I have to do the reversing.
Does anyone have any experience, and is it wise to use flaperon for any fast plane which does not have a provision of flap? Anyone's using flaperon and if yes, how to set it up on Aurora 9.
Thanks in advance.
Mody

Some will say that they are great and use them, but I have a problem adding a load to the ailerons, especially flaps and spoilers. Most folks will use them when landing, when the ailerons are really needed, but you lose effectiveness because of the flaps being deflected.
If you don't really need them, then why use them.

Thanks CG for replying back to me.
You've seen Phoenix Model Strega, it does not have flaps, and it only has ailerons and I wanna use them as flaperons, so they can be aileron as well as flaps, and it's also an experiment since it's under repair and it's gonna be completed this Sunday as my mentor is gonna teach me how to do the covering. So wings are gonna be covered and it should be ready to fly, so I wanna check that option of flaperons.
