Default help finding a charger

Hello all, I recently purchased an airfield p-47 that doesn't seem to come with a charger. (http://www.nitroplanes.com/93a47-140...tf-24g-v2.html)

I went to a local hobby shop and all they had was a charger for 70 bucks that needed adaptors and such to even be able to use it. Could anyone help me with info on what charger would work for this battery???
I wouldn't want to purchase something online that doesn't work and then have to do the whole return shipping crap.

Thanks a lot, just trying to figure out all the details. Got the plane built today, and fine tuned the rods. Now i just need a charger so i am able to fly

Almost ANY lipo charger will work. Most of them do 1-6 cells and even the cheap 50 watt ones will do the job. I couldn't see the connector so I can't advise about specific connector. There's a number of "standard" connectors.

If you want to do the pack in a hurry and the pack is safe to do so then charge rates are up to 4-10C now. An example may be 16 volts x 10 amps requiring around 160 watts. Depending upon how fast you charge and how many packs at a time you may want to select a charger with considerably more than 50 watts. 80-400 watt chargers are very reasonable now.

I have 5 of those chargers. lol. The bad part is you can only charge up to 5 amps and discharge at 1 amp.

The chargers may be under powered for some, I just get more batteries so I have a few charged, a couple on the charger, and I am flying. Plus it gives you time to enjoy watching the others fly and to take time out to have lunch

This is one of those situations where NOT providing something is a good thing.

Normally the chargers that come with RTF's are very low end. I've always favored saving having the money these useless devices cost, go to better connectors, etc. in the plane.

If you think you'll stick with the hobby and electrics, invest in a GOOD computer controlled charger. It need not be super expensive ( e.g. over 180.00 or so ), but it should handle different types of packs, even if specific aftermarket connectors are needed.

A good charger is a sound investment that will last for years. It should be able to handle everything you can throw at it and detect when the pack is charged, cutting off current.

I use my computer controlled chargers to charge everything from 12v Gel Cell packs, TX packs, RX packs, LiPo's, LiFE, Lead Acid 12v field boxes, etc. etc. etc.

Built in balance charging capacbilities are also a good idea.
