I have been an on again off again flyer for many years..I spent alot of recent years in the rc helicopter end of things ..I love all kinds of planes but am thinking about a new plane....The nearest good flying site site would be 20 miles away but there is a nice big field close that could be a good handlaunchlocation so my plane would have to be hand launchable..I want to be able to take my plane and gear to the field hand launch and land with little fuus so it must be electric..I would also like it to be a glider type for longer relaxing type flight..I have seen a radian pro and it looked nice in the air..what about one of these or the three channel radian..also an axn floater..the radian can be bought and parts bought locally but the floater is an out of province thing..any advice would be welcome..

Hi. Being a Park Flyer I have a Easy Star that is the defacto standard for our club. It is hand launched in that it does not have wheels. It also can be modified in any number of ways. Just check some of the ideas on this web site. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1363621

The Radian and Radian Pro are excellent powered gliders. The 3 ch Radian is a wonderful design that flies well and is so simple to assemble at the field. I currently have the Radian Pro and enjoy it. While the addition of ailerons and flaps on the Pro are nice to have, I readily recommend the 3 ch as well.

lots of foamies that will fit the bill. For my money I would get a percision aerobatics addiction. Can be had luanched and floats beyond belief, or a parkzone typhoon II.

Radian, Radian Pro, and Multiplex Easy Star are all terrific suggestions; the original poster mentioned he wanted, "a glider type for longer relaxing type flight." The Phase 3 Phoenix II is another nice choice for a RTF 2M wingspan glider. It's also available as an iBind model for folks who already have an Airtronics 2.4Ghz radio system.
I've really been enjoying flying my Thunder Tiger eHawk 1500 glider for the last couple of seasons. Foam planes and I don't seem to get along well, I do far more damage to them simply loading them in and out of my car than I ever get to do to them while flying. I like the built-up covered balsa wing and tail on the eHawk.
Good luck and good shopping!
