Default Power System

As yall know I'm working on building my first plane/s And now I'm looking at powering at least one by Lipo. The Trainer 40 will have a Power 32 think thats a 770kv motor. And I'm on 72mHz Have a Old Futaba 8U a JR 6102 and a Old Airtronics system with the analog voltage hand. LOL Any ways I trust all 3. Back in the day when money could be picked off trees I had DX7 &amp; X9303 all that good stuff the best of everything. Now not so fortunate. I was thinking being the electric motor and all will be lighter I could run a ESC with a seprate BEC for my RX and Servos and put them all on a 2S 7.4V 3000+ mah with a regulator down to 6V and Run Dual 11.v 2200mah to power the motor. That would insure if I ran the packs to low, or what ever elseI'd still have some flight controls.</p>

Default RE: Power System

That's seriously overengineering your system. If you want separate power for your electronics, hook up a 6v NiCd or a 2 cell LiFe and call it done. Me, I'd just use a BEC with your flight battery and pay attention to your flight time. Most ESC's will start pulsing when the low voltage cutoff hits, which still has plenty of juice for keeping the controls active.
