May not be the exact place to ask this question, but here goes...

The prop nut and lock nut on my fs91 are jammed together in that both turn when I turn the locknut. I dont have fixed wrenches, I am using a adjustable wrench and a 4-way wrench for the locknut. There simply sisnt space to insert the wrench for the locknut after holdomg the main nut in the adjustable wrench. How do I get the two off seperately?

The crescent wrench won't work. You will need to get an open end wrench on the prop nut in order to hold it. Then turn the lock nut off and then the prop nut.

I will borrow someone's fixed type spanner on the field tomorrow to hold the main nut and then use the 4-way spanner to open the locknut toorrow

Dubro makes a nice thin fixed wrench with a bunch of different sized holes both metric and SAE, that I use to hold the prop nut, while I loosen the jam nut.

For me your problem is not uncommon...

At one point when I first started building sand rails I also bought a bunch of throw away cheap wrenches that if I lost or broke it wasn't a big loss. I still have several of these wrenches. They were made in India and turned out to be a lot better then I thought they would be. They don't flex or strip so the metal/steel was a lot better then I thought they would be. I was surprised at the quality, only thing cheap about them was the price. Because of the price I didn't feel bad at all about grinding some of them so they were thinner. I have often used them for removing jam nuts. It would be worth your time to shop around for some of the cheap wrenches and do as I did, cut or grind them so they serve your purpose.

Someone gave me a spanner- its a plate with many hex holes. Held the main nut with it and used the 4-way wrench on the jam nut. A 5 second job. Turns out I was having trouble with because the prop was turning relative to the crank when I held it and tried to turn the nut

Yup you're right, so is mine... I had the manufacturer wrong.
