I'm New and looking at the Mark II as my 1st kit.. I see that it also has a Accessory Kit.. I want to give my LHS some business, but being so New I'm not sure what products will work with the Kadet Mark II....

This is $40 on the SIG site... Can I do much better at my LHS? Do you think I should just get this kit for my 1st build, since I don't know what I'm doing ? Then once I get a feel for what the parts are I can give my business to the LHS on my Next build ?<br type="_moz" />

Take  pad of paper, pencil and a calculator with this list and price it all out. You would be surprised how quickly these small parts add up at a LHS. Your LHS can order the kit for you too, and should be about the same price depending on the LHS and where they purchase from. <div>
</div><div>The Local Hobbytown here orders direct from Tower Hobbies for some stuff, so they match the price if I can wait as they bulk ship when they have a large enough order so I dont pay for shipping. </div>

You can surely get all of that stuff from you LHS. To do some "what is it" research check out TowerHobbies.com. You can also download manufacturer specific catalogs - like Dubro's and maybe Great Planes. These two are very prevalent at your LHS.

Have you downloaded the SIG MK II manual yet? It's a pdf file and is the real deal. In it it shows that the tank used in the plans is the Sullivan RST tank. Read it a couple of times thru until you understand the approach and where the various bits &amp; pieces are used.

I started to do this, but not having exact part #'s it makes it hard to find exactly what you are getting in the kit.. Go to www.invisplaza.com/catalog/(this is my LHS) and put "Nylon Pushrods" in the Search Box.. You get a variety of results and being New to the hobby it is hard for me to pick the right part to even add it to my expense list.

Bill - if you haven't read the manual yet, do it now. It will put all of the stuff into perspective - where it goes, when you need it and what it does.

This is the best advice that you can get right now. When I teach somebody how to build the very first step is to pull out the manual and read it from cover to cover. Step two, close the manual, start at page one, and read it again. Step three, re-read the manual. I know this sounds silly but this one step will do more than any other in giving you a leg up towards a successfull biuld. I've been building kits for close to 40 years now and I still read the manual through 4-5 times before I ever pick up one piece of wood.

I've read through it, pretty rapidly.. The one I found kinda give me a headache..ha.. It has these white boxes that have really light text in them.. Makes it a pain to read online.

Download this pdf version of the instruction manual for the plane. Print it out where you can sit down and read it in black and white on paper. Have a pencil handy so you can jot down any notes or questions you may have. Sit at the kitchen table, or wherever you are away from distractions, so you can read through it without being distracted by other things. I can't emphasize enough how much this one step will lend towards a successfull build. This is well worth the time you are going to spend.

I can't tell you how many times I've seen somebody make a mistake because they didn't know what the next step was in biulding. If you read through the manual multiple times you will understand and know what's coming next. In fact, sometimes the pictures later on in the manual may help clear up something you are confused on in an earlier step. And when you get ready to build the plane, since this is your first build, when you start take the manual out and read ALOUD each step. I know it sounds silly, but it will help keep you from missing things as you build. Since this is your first build it's important to build good habits that result in a succesfull build. A little investment now will pay off in multitudes later down the road when you have a plane in the air.
