Default HK Orders

Is it normal for them to take a long time to process an order and show unpaid? I used Paypal for a couple batteries and RX.

I have had a few times where it did not take my paypal order the first time, I had to pay a different way, I am sorry but I don't remember the details. But if it does not show up on your paypal page, I would try again.

Hope that helps

Jon

As Minnreefer said, first check the PayPal page and see if the payment went through.

Usually for me the order shows "paid" within a few minutes of submitting a Paypal payment.

Log out and back in to the HK site and hit "refresh" a few times too, just to clear your cache.

If after doing all of this the order does not show up as "paid" check the items to see that all are in stock, I've also seen out of stock items foul things up a bit, as well as ordering batteries.

Note when ordering batteries I recommend using the USA warehouse whenever possible. Due to new restrictions on shipping LiPo's via air, most LiPo packs are now shipping via Europe... ( yeah it makes no sense... ).

Anyway if after 3 days the order still doesn't show up as paid, it's time to get on "Live chat" and also send an e-mail. It takes 2-3 days to get a response via e-mail.

Yeah, it shipped.!   Really funny about this one. I ordered 3 of the orange Spektrum RX, one for me and 1 or 2 for my friend, if he only wants one I'll keep the second.  He called me yesterday saying, hey can you get me one of those orange RX?   I told him, yep already did! LOL

You know, HK does have that lack of service problem and a few others, OK maybe several, but I go in with other guys and place orders. Sometimes service is slow like when something is back ordered but other then that we always get our items. A friend just picked me up a new ignition that was a back order last time I tried to order one. This guy is an old customer with a number of special deals with them, he orders a bunch from them. He has the express shipping too so stuff gets here in a hurry.
It does pay to order with several other guys though. Some of there deals can't be beat. I also just got a new motor, ESC and a few others things from them for about 30 bucks. I saved about 100 bucks in buying from them.
I will bad mouth HK for a number of reasons but I will also still order from them too. If the items I get are bad or broken I will try to get it resolved but if I have to eat the deal then oh well, it happens.
Glad it all worked out for you. My last order was all for back ordered stuff but everything came in about a week later and got sent! Sometimes I just get lucky!!

I had placed an order a week prior, and my CC declined due to it being a Hong Kong order, which the bank then called me 30 minutes later to approve, but I had already cancelled the order.  It all worked out good too because I was also wanting the DX8 battery, and they were backordered. I got an email a day later saying the battery was in, so placed another order and used Paypal instead.  Once I see how long it takes to actually receive the parts, then we can plan our next order. I have 3 others who could use stuff.  I also need to see if they have the old Airtronics to JR conversion cables, we could use a few dozen of them.

Careful with the 6 channel units.

I had the first version ( 1.0 & 1.1 ) of those units and had problems with them.

All of the other configurations have tested just fine, and I've even flown the smaller 4 channel full range, out to very good distances on gliders ( e.g. over 2000 ft slant range...

I've been reluctant to try the newer V2 6 channel Orange RX's, but I guess I should to see if the problems are now gone.

One of my friends is flying the 6 ch orange that he got earlier this year, and has not had any issues. Mainly the reason I got them, was reluctant until I saw how well his worked.  The plane has had more mishaps on landing and takeoff, but once in the air it has been flown out to a dot and has never once had a control issue.  It just has these tiny wheels on it and that darn thing noses over all the time.  He over corrected on a takeoff and mangled the wing, but the radio is still working good.

Yeah those are likely the V2 units.

I purchased mine well over a year and a half ago.

Sounds like it is time for me to revisit the 6 channel units.

Some think this may take business away from Spektrum/JR, but at least in my case the availability of cheap RX's has led me to purchase a couple of newer and more expensive JR RX's, like the X11 DSM2/X, etc... which I would not have done otherwise.

Glad things worked out. If you keep ordering with HK they will acknowledge your loyalty. I have read about previous HK buyers (with over 1k in spending) get a replacement plane sent to them with no need to return original broken plane (from shipment).
HK does have odd shipping. I once placed two orders (one from usa and the other from global) and the usa order got shipped in 24 hours while the global took 3 weeks to arrive. They lack consistency and I have discovered there are multiple reasons for this. Some items are HK brand like Durafly, NTM, Turnigy, and hk brand. But other stuff that HK rebrands like this one plane I ordered... Are made to order from a factory. Even though they said they had 9 in stock the order sat for 1 week in approved state. I called HK and they told me the Plane was being shipped from factory to their front end warehouse. This is one reason why it is slow and is not expressed by their order "status" system.

Also going to try out the Futaba RX they sell. If it works well, that sure saves a TON of cash. the 8 channel RX for the 8FGS is about $130 or so, the one from HK is under $30.

I haven't ever seen one but do they have a Hitec RX replacement out yet?? I like the little 6ch for electrics. I wouldn't trust an after market in any of my good planes though but the electrics I wouldn't mind.

Yeah, they sent me a complete flybarless RTF heli once, for free, plus a few other goodies.
