Default hitec servo voltage

what is the voltage range for hitec hs-635hb, need to buy reciever batt want lipo 7.4 volt spectrum rec ar7000 high voltage is 9.1 volt.servo spec 4.8 to 6.0 volt.im not sure if I can use this batt with this servo.

I wouldn't run much more then 6V on any servo that is not designated high voltage. No my race planes that I want to run lithium batteries on I just throw in a regulator made by Team Losi, It is small, light and delivers plenty of power.

Don't use a battery with that high of a voltage inside the plane. It can, and more than likely will, cause problems with your receiver and servos. If you want to use a battery with that high of a voltage then you need to use a voltage regulator to drop the voltage down to what the radio gear can handle.<div>

Ditto what those guys said. You could use 2s Li-Fe, but I wouldn't use unregulated Li-Po.

I use 3 cell Lipo's in my planes with a Castle Voltage Regulator that keeps the reciever voltage at 5.8 volts. The regulators are adjustable. As mentioned, it is not a good idea to go over 6 volts. Good Luck, Dave

2 cell LiFe is fine, but not Lipo. the voltage ratings in the servo specs are for the nominal voltage of the packs ie, a 6v NiCd. That pack comes hot off the charger around 7.2v, while the LiFe starts around 7.4v. That's close enough to not hurt anything.

Remember, the higher the voltage the higher the current draw and the lower the flight times.
Even with LiFes I use a regulator and run at 5 volts. Plenty of power and lots of flying time.
Also, a little easier on the servos.

Good Luck,

6v rated servos work perfectly on 2 cell A123's so no need to add a component that can fail if you dont have to.

If you want to run straight 2S lipo you either need servo's made for that such as Savox HV (there's others) or run a regulator.

The recievers will be fine, most of them will run happily up to 9v or so.

As to the increased power consumption, its pretty small, testing has showed in the 5 to 7 percent range.
