1600 miles? Excellent - and not for the reason you'd think..... There should be a low that states "Thou shalt not train thine own spouse." Quickest recipe for divorce (or breakup) in the world...

Jeremy - remind her that turbines are pretty inexpensive, all in all, and there's dozens of 'em at your field......... and what a nice wedding present one would be...

Rob makes an excellent point. I used to teach SCUBA and I'd always split up spouses untill the end of the class. I learned this rule from a dance instructor and it served me well. One person would always end up depending on the other at the least and the extra baggage of the relationship would carry over to the class. You could tell her to level the wings and in her mind she might be thinking he really doesn't love me. With an instructor with no prior history, level the wings means level the wings.

You'll both enjoy your time at the field a lot more with a flying partner than with a student/ teacher relationship forever.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I am touched how thoughtful everyone is. all your words of encouragement, all your help and words of advice. What a nice bunch of people! Thank you again.

P.S. Janet...I just asked Jeremy what a torque roll was...i thought it was some kind of donut and i was wondering if it had cream filling or chocolate frosting. Come to find out, it has something to do with flying!! geez, who knew?

The law? *grin* We had a regatta (sailboats)at the pond a couple weeks ago, and the final 'official' event was a powderpuff set of heats. It wasn't just wimmen - powderpuff, in this context, meant rank beginner. I paired up boats and coaches with newbies and started the Starting Tape countdown..... Heh - after 3-4 heats, those couples that were together were almost coming to blows... "Get away from me!!! I can do this!!!" "WHICH STICK? WHICH WAY?" That was the last time I"ll do it THAT way.....

Jeremy's girl

I doubt Jeremy does many torque rolls with his turbine. You should go aerobatic. Once you go aerobatic you dont go back . I could list why this is the best area of the hobby but I dont want to get flamed[8D]

Laying all jokes aside there are very very very few women in this sport and even fewer women in the aerobatic field. I have only seen one of them (they said she was a woman anyway ) and she was very good. I bet there would be a lot of sponsors for a top dawg female aerobatic pilot.

Nope, you're right, I don't torque roll my turbines. But I disagree with you saying aerobatics is the best area of the hobby.
Having said that, I wouldn't try to make her do anything she didn't want to do anyway, if she is happy flying gliders, then that makes me happy, if she wants to do aerobatic stuff that is perfectly fine, if she wants to do jets, great.
I don't really see her getting into the high dollar aspect of jets anyway.

For what it's worth, I flew pattern for many years, I have done the aerobatics thing, and I think it's great, right up there with the jets, but nothing has given me the rush that jets do. The sound, the look, it's all so amazing.

Anyway, there's even fewer women in the jet field than aerobatics

Anyway, it's only a hobby, I don't think the thought of being sponsored has come into play..................... yet

Anyways.....I'm very happy to see that there is a another woman in this hobby.....WE NEED SOMEMORE......

I'm only 15 but would like to meet someone that flys too......We could talk about RPMs, OS engines, props, argue endlessly about AMA rules, torque roll together, and all the while having our first date at the flying field standing next to each other.........LOL..........FUN FUN FUN...

I remembered that you weren't knowlegable about the code that we supposidly speak, well, I started that thread in the Questions and Answers for us to post the codes that they speak....maybe this will help you out as you journey out into this obsession and major addiction.....you can find it....hopefully: [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_1476611/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#1476611]Thread for Posting CODE[/link]
