Move the stick to the right and the right aileron should go up.

Get an experienced r/c pilot to pre-flight you and trim the model; maybe give you a few lessons. It will save you a lot of money.

definitely great advice!
one minor thing... stand BEHIND the airplane when checking! move the aileron stick (right hand stick) to the right, and the right aileron should go UP.

Imagine... air is rushing over the top wing surface, suddenly aileron comes up, what happens? answer your question?

Please don't tell me the airflow pushes the wing down

Nope. Airflow has to be faster on the upper surface of the wing with the flap down and it rises because of Mr. Bernouli's theorums (faster air over the surface = lower pressure). However, the flap also creates drag and there is adverse yaw as the wing with the up aileron continues on at a faster rate; twisting the aircraft towards the lower aileron side. In short, heavier than air flight is impossible. ;-)
