OK, just for you I took the time to take a couple of photos of one of my YS engines that had a crack in the case, it's a 1.20 FZ. A YS is fuel injected and must be 100% sealed, it operates with pressure. The crank case was drilled out then tapped then a screw was installed where the crack was located. Then it had to be machined inside flush with the case so the crank and rod wouldn't hit it, very tight fit!! On the outside it looks like hell due to the JB weld slathered over the repair. It is just to make sure the screw doesn't come out. Just an after thought. The engine runs perfectly. Inside the machine shop did such a good job you really have to look clos to even see the repair.
A YS is/was a very high dollar work of art and worth repairing. Depending on how you feel about the Enya it can be repaired, a new case can be bought or you can find an even better engine for not much money at most any RC swap meets.
I'm presently looking for a new case/head for another YS I have, a 110 that I had fully rebuilt then crashed on the first flight and broke the cylinder where the header threads in. The engine is well worth repairing, I can either buy a new part or find a used one, my call. I don't need the engine for a while so I will look for the used part but for under 100 bucks I can get a new one.

Thanx for the helpful words and yes I did think about JB Alum Weld, but my problem is more of it being a jig saw puzzle as compared to a crack
Putting all this together is not only a structual matter but also one of alignment etc.

Here is what happened, in my haste to make a run stand at the shop I took (2) 5/8" pieces of square steel tube and drilled and tapped mounting holes for the engine.
I then bolted the engine to the tubes and screwed them down to a wood block thinking I had enough clearance between the block and the bottom of the engine, I didn't, consequently after a few runs I noticed the front bearing carrier was loose and when I went to tighten the screws I realized the top ones were loose but not the bottom two. Further inspection revealed the interference between the wooden block and the bottom of the engine case had caused the case to break out. Voilla my problem !!!

Incidentally prior to this fiasco I did manage to get it to run pretty decent.

Anybody got parts for this engine ENYA 80-4C
Thanx,
Bob Blasi

Just for the fun of it I looked up Enya on the net and found a couple of the old 80s for sale, about 60 magic beans will get you a complete engine. Thing is if you go to most any club on a weekend you will probably find people with a better four stroke for sale that is in good shape. I saw a ton of them at the last swap meet, some NIB. In my area most the guys have gone to gas and have a lot of engines sitting under the bench doing nothing and would like to get rid of them and make a few bucks. I'm one of the few left still using four stroke glows. For the most part they are all high dollar YS and I couldn't get any money for them or I would have made the complete switch to gas myself. I only buy glow fuel when it's on sale and I stock up. 15 bucks a gallon for fuel or 3 bucks a gallon for gas. A new gas engine is a lot cheaper then a good glow engine too.
