What are the options available when a cowl covers a needle valve?? I have drilled a hole so that get to the needle, but its too short to extend out of the cowl. Can I replace the original needle valve with one that will accept a hex screw driver?? Can I buy a longer needle?? Any other ideas??
The engine is for an os .25

Does the needle valve have a hole in the end and a set screw?
If so take a piece of music wire (push rod or even an old hex wrench) that fits in the hole and tighten the setscrew on it and whamo, you have a needle vale extension after you bend a 90 degree bend outside of the cowl.
The hole is at the end like on this one!
The set screw is on the side of the needle valve in the picture.

If you want it to accept a hex screw driver, you can solder a wheel collar to the needle,
put a short Socket Head Cap Screw in the collar, this way you can adjust it with a hex screw driver from outside the cowl,
Tip; glue a piece of plastic or brass tube on the inside of the cowl for guidance.

You can also cut a slot in the end with a dremel for a straight blade screw driver. Just be sure to thoroughly clean it before re-installing.
