I bought a nice small model at an auction that the auctioneer claimed was a model named Miss Los Angeles, looks like a 30's racer. Anyone know where I can get some info on this model so I can match up electronics and an engine/fuel tank?
Thanks

It should be a Brown B-2, designed in the mid thirties and flown in the national air races at least a couple of times (ending in disaster, I think).

RCM published plans for a 40 - 46 sized versionwith a 58" span (plans etc. available from this link if it's the rignt size).

Sure looks identical to the photo of "Miss Los Angeles" on the cover of the February RCM.

That is an RCM photo, but I didn't realize it had been shown recently... the pointer I used is to their plans site, which lists the plan as being from the mid-1990s, I think.

Thanks for the input. That is the plane only mine has a 44" wingspan and weighs about one pond with no radio equipment or gas tank. Is there a good way to figure out the engine size I should be using?

Actually, the B-2 plans published in the February issue were the second set of plans published by them. The photo Al posted was from the first which was several years back and by a different designer. I think the more recent one is slightly bigger and looks to be a little more scale.
The first one was 58" wingspan and designed for 40 to 46 engines but the wing was extended quite a bit from scale. The author states that the true scale wingspan would have been just 43". I'm guessing that if your's is true to scale that it's actually the same scale as the one above but without the exagerated wing. In that case, it may be for a 40/46 also...but that's just a guess.
I've got both issues if you need info on the more recent one.
BTW, this is definitely not a beginner's plane.
