With instruction you could learn to fly it, but you may have some difficulty at first. It's considered a second or intermidate trainer, one that is more aerobatic then a high wing trainer and a little more stable than a low wing trainer or sport model. I've know some guys who liked it and others who didn't. I've only flown the model once to help the owner trim it out. And except for looks and landing speeds it reminded me of the GB Falcon 56. [&:]

Ditto, the GP Easy Sport is an intermediate (I.E., Second) Plane. If you are flying with an instructor, I would say as long as you have it, give it a try. Between you and your instructor, you can decide if you should continue with it, or if you should get a trainer.
In many cases, I don't have a problem teaching someone on an intermediate plane.

i see you took our advise on the P51 blackhawk??? good move you wont regreat it...
as for the ES-40 your comming a few steps down from your P51, get your hands on a decent trainer learn the basics have fun with that (you will dont worry even us vet's do
) then move on to your ES-40

Get with a good instructor and you can learn to fly that plane fine. It may take a few extra flights to get it down, but you will be fine. You won't get bored with it as fast as a trainer. Granted it is a little advanced, but it will work for you. I actually prefer to teach on a plane like the falcon III, which is close to what you have. Flies a little faster and doesn't float like a trainer, but after you learn, you can do a lot more with it.
You will be fine.

Your asking the wrong People!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go to a club before you buy anything and find an instructor. Pick their brains for a couple of hours find out what THEY perfer training you on!!!!!
This place is fun to BS but you will learn more in a couple of hours with face to face then you'll learn in a month here!!!!!!!!!!1
Remember the guy that you meet is going to be the one actually teaching you everyone here is just expressing a general opinion... Listen to your instructor and you can't go wrong. BTW taking their advice on what plane to buy will save you from the 50 "get the LT-40" posts that allways popup here.

Your advice is great Crashem. If the people we tell on here to go buy a cool trainer for $$$ Just went to their local club and asked around they could get a nice trainer cheap, and probably an instructor to go with it. Sure, we all have our opinions on what the best trainer is, but a nice LT-40, Avistar, Extra EZ, or anything that runs good and comes with local support from an instructor for $200 off the entire RTF package is the best deal. $150-$250, here's your trainer ready to fly, radio, and a teacher. Tower can't match a deal like that..! And that's not counting having a trainer your instructor likes, his radio and buddy box will work with it, on and on. If I'd have just went to my local field and said "I want to fly, find me a nice trainer, radio, and an instructor", I'd have probably saved $200-$300 right from the start.. The new cool trainers are nice, but not compared to a nice cheap setup bundled with an instructor. - Joe
