Default next plane after first low wing

i just got used to my first true balsa plane. it looks like a spacewalker. anyway, what would be a good step up from that? i like scale/sport type planes, 60 size.

Now the ball is in YOUR court.

There are too many planes to list!

Look around and see what blows your skirt up, then check back here to see if it's a good building kit and/or flying plane

Try the Skyshark line of kits. They are supposed to be great fliers and fantastic kits. Good parts and phenominal customer support. I will get a few when I get back to work this spring.

so youre saying i can fly most of the low wings out there if i can fly one? i actually like the GP venus 40 ( i know not a 60). i also like the GP lancair ES but thats way out of my budget. im only 15. ive seen the ucd in flight and it looks fun. i also like the something extra. i guess i will get whatever i see that is cheap at the hobby shop. they build and test planes-kits,arfs, scratch built- and sell them with an old engine and/or radio for CHEAPPP. thats where i got my "spacewalker." i have another question. do you think flaperons will be of any benefit on my plane? if i do use them, how do i plug that setup into a 5 channel receiver?

The GP venus 40 is a great flying plane, one of my friends has one and can be flown to do some real precision aerobatics, However it is a step forward for your skills because it does come in faster than you might be used to but flies so nice.

My vote says 4*60. It was my first slimer plane as I moved over from electrics. Now I fly both,

Good luck,

It is all up to you, your budget is the olny thing that should limit you, the easy way out is to use your existing equipment and upgrade your airframe. Think any bit about a Hanger 9 funtana?

DAUNTAE nice photo! I have one too, well not in one piece now!(radio failure!!)Great little bipe, funny that everyone who had one couldn't get theirs to fly right. Mine did @ 53.75 ozs.

Mine flew great with a OS 40 FS right up till I had it too rich and the engine started to blubber on takeoff then cleared up and torqued hard BUT I kept it flying as it went back to blubbering however it was now heading right over our pits right into our frequency pole, ripped both wings on the right side right off spun around and landed right on the wheels Did not even break the prop... Just the entire airfrane and wings. Gonna miss the little bipe. Was the coolest looking thing on a flyby

Any of the planes you mention will be fine to fly. The Sig Somethin Extra and GP UCD are a couple of my favorites. It is always a good thing to add something to a new plane when learning. Flaperons are a lot of fun on the Sig SE or GP UCD. You will need a radio with flaperon capablilty. Some 5 channel receivers actually use channel #6 (channel #5 is normally non proportional and used up/down for retractable landing gear). Channel # 6 is the flap use and one aileron servo is plugged into it and the other plugged into the aileron channel. Check your radio manual. The transmitter also has a switch (3 position) that in the center is off / elevator to flap mix / and landing mode. I use the landing mode for spoilerons whic is used for "elevator" and "harrier" type maneuvers.

i mmean it was a receiver for electric 5 channel planes. the 5th slot is for battery/ch5. i read somewhere that i can use a y connector and plug a servo and the battery into channel 5, but i tried it and it wont work

woudl be fun learning to fly a warbird and messing with retracts and bombs and the works, so many posibilities.
