Default **Question For NexSTAR Owners**

HI, I am am current trying to setup my 'AFS' gyro in my plane. The manual says at the bottom of page 16, "to adjust the gain, rotate the screw adjustment in the AFS module full conterclockwise."

I suppose they are reffering to the little adjuster needle inside of the Gyro, but the manual never says how to turn it...or what can be used to turn it.

Your Responses welcome>>..................

Hey bobs!!!! Did you get the product improvement sheet included with your Nexstar? The instuction manual is wrong and the suppliment sheet tells you its "SENSOR A AND SENSOR A", not "SENSOR A AND SENSOR B". Hope this helps. I am personally gonna leave it unplugged because i think its harder to fly with it on. (just a personal peference)

Happy Holidays and Happy Flying!!!!!

My ship had the product improvement sheet too so the Sensor A to Senso A is correct.

I agree about disabling the AFS. It can cause more trouble than it prevents.

I've had my NexSTAR for a week. Just waiting to get some instruction time, but I have already removed the entire AFS setup from the aircraft. The remaining hole will be patched, or I am playing with some wireless video setups.

I agree with the rest. I never got my private ticket by learning to operate the GPS or Flight Director, and I think the AFS will actually diminish your total skills, and promote bad flying habits.

Thats a good idea Fletch for the video cam!!! I will probably leave mine where it is for now since my CG is perfect. When you get your cam set up let us know what you used and how you did it.

bob's,
As I posted in your other thread, please find a local club and get an instructor.

Hey DB,

You're a good guy and I don't disagree with your post, but wasn't it a little out of context? Gees, lol. Seem a little trigger happy at telling someone to get an instructor, lol.

I think that you would learn more and be a better pilot in the long run if you used an Instuctor, and had the AFS on RCU Market place instead of the plane. IMOH
