Must have been close to 60 here in VA as well. Got up on buddy box for while with Avistar, but only needed instructor for first couple of approaches on first flight. Second flight I had it full time. Still a little rusty but he thinks I'm ready to solo. Probablly would have today but field started to get real busy. Next weekend.......

I went out this morning. Did a few laps and a couple of landings before the wind came up too strong for my beginner status. Nice day in southern Japan though. About 15 degrees C (9/5 + 32 for F) = about 59 F and barely a cloud.

AAAH! Stop it! Stop it! I can't take it!!
It was sunny here in WA and never broke 40°! DIdn't stop us though! We all had a custom timer too. When your nose begins to run uncontrollably or your thumbs no longer function, it's time to land

I would have liked to get out too. Today it is supposed to be 51 with winds of 9mph from the northwest. However, I am sitting here at work and going to the field is out of the question. Also spent the weekend working on my Magic Extra 300. Just have to dye the canopy (that's why I am online on RCU getting tips.) I am hopeful that the upcoming weekend might be good weather. Although I might be able to fly New Years Eve, or New Years Day.

RE: anyone going flying today?
Friday & Saturday were in the 40's (very unusual for this time of year) Saturday the snow was all melted away and made it easy to get to the flying field. I decided to get my last flight in for the year, and took my Big stick 60 out. I got to the field about 10 am and had the field to my self until a few more club members got the intch and showed up.I flew until around 2 PM and packed up an came home. The wind was damp and out of the NW, and by 2PM it was starting to cloud up and cool down. I woke up this morning and Old Man Winter returned and covered everything with snow.
Cant wait until the January Thaw to come. Now I'm thinking about putting ski's on it and go do some flying off the lake close by. Anyway had a great time at the field.

I just checked the forecast for New Years Eve, and New Years Day. Looks like I will be flying Wed 61, Thu 57. Oh.. and the weekend, for now, is 62 SAT and 57 Sunday. I think I will get in the first days of the year.

Yes 3D, here in WA what limits the flight time is how long you can keep your fingers working and not how much fuel is left!
However, went to Marymoor field both Sat and Sun in between the rains, under 40F.
Yesterday landed 3 times with dead stick. My evolution 0.46 engine is still giving me problems and I decided that I'm going to return it. I'm tired of it. Will take something else, probably a magnum or OS Fx.

Anyone going flying today?
Well I thought about flying today but the wind picked up and it just turned out to be "picture-takin'" day. It's about 50 degrees here in New England but the wind gets your hands chilly very quickly. At least my Shoestring got some sun; it's been in the basement ( along with other projects, about 6 months ) getting the landing gear fixed and an engine replacement ( to a Magnum 91-4 ). She fired right up, so we'll be out there once it gets warmer. I was in Minnesota for Christmas, and I wonder how you guys do it; I'd have to have a plane with skis ( or ice skates ) on it.

Looks like our forecast is holding. 62* and wind from the south at 10-17mph. Got my US 60 charged up and ready. Should be a great day if the wind will hold in the predicted range and direction. Our runway is straight north and south.

RE: Anyone going flying today?
Every day has been above 60 degrees since last weekend. I have flown every day except for Christmas! It is great! If this is what is like to be retired, then I want a major dose of this!

RE: Anyone going flying today?
Well, I got one flight in as the wind started to calm down late this afternoon. It has been a long day. I went to delete my trainer from my radio (since it hit a bird and crashed last summer) and accidentally deleted the US 60 I wanted to fly. Well needless to say, a few programming hours later, and resetting the throttle, I finally made it. Still going to have to reprogram the control surfaces, I put the high rates on the low rate setting on the radio. Like to keep them the same on every plane. Might get some more in tomorrow.

Anyone going flying today?
But it's probably colder on Mars! ( inside joke )
And to top it all off, quite literally, we got 3" of snow this morning. It's a killer when all your planes are built and/or repaired and you can't fly them!

Anyone freezing their hands off today?
I got three flights in today, the first since Thanksgiving. It was about 25 degrees F, but the wind was dead calm. It was still a bit too cold.
