No single person created the Internet. It's a giant collaboration that owes its creation and continual evolution to an incredibly diverse group of people over the past 30+ years.

I got no clue as to what this has to do with Beginners either, but I remember reading in my Data Communications/Networking class textbook that Tim Berners-Lee at CERN started the Internet, then some dude invented TCP/IP, etc. then you get the World Wide Web and HTTP. Before the WWW there was the Gofer, Ftp, etc
I think we have a confusion. But thats ok!!! i like confusions. Everyone gets mad, sits, calms down, and gets mad all over again because they forgot why they were mad in the first place
