Hi, I am about to buy my 1st rc, a wingo with floats, I'll get the package from hobby lobby, but like to get a 5 channel radio for future upgrades, I see several hitec 5 channel radios with different packages, and a 6 channel radio that is cheaper. Thanks for any advise....bill

May I make a suggestion? How about one of the new 6 channel computer radios. You can take your choice from the major manufactuer's. These will be more useful as you grow in the hobby. I would suggest the same brand as you already own. You could use the old transmitter for your own buddy box. If Hitec is yout choice I would suggest the current Eclipse 7 channel radio. It is a good unit at a good price. Good luck and enjoy your new plane.

If you plan to fly with an instructor at a field go check and see what radio system most of them are running. if its hitec buy hitec if its futaba buy futaba. i second thecomputer radio idea. If you decide on futaba go with a 6EXA 6-channel computer radio. it only runs about $170 and can store settings for up 6 models!
