Raghfrost,
Could you give us a little more information as to the plane? Who makes it or a link to a site. Most students select a plane that is too aerobatic for thier second plane. A fast roll rate gets most intermediate pilots in trouble fast. Couple that with tapered wings which are fully symmetrical and you can have the plane in an attitude you haven't seen before.
My favorite "second" plane is the Sig Mid-Star 40. The entire "Star" series is good however. They all have semi-symmetrical wings with a straight long wing configuration. This gives you time to think while still giving good intermediate flight performance. Try to pick a plane with these characteristics.
Hope this helps,
Bill

NO the learning curve is not low, but the flight duration sure will
be. Save that plane for your third one. Get a low wing style with a constant cord and semi-symmetrical airfoil like the Sig 4 Star 40 or maybe the H9 Sport Stick shoulder wing.

Take his word for it--I thought I had mastered my trainer--Ran to the LHS and bought a Cap 232. Put it together (what a beautiful plane). Took it to the airfield--fired it up -- taxied-- and man did it fly GREAT--for the first 20 seconds-- can you say "snap roll" right after the tailwheel rotated I yanked up and it "responded"--SPLAT--now I have a beautiful Cap 232 in a trashbag as a reminder--Go for the four star forty--it is a kit but builds in less than the time it takes for most ARF's and it is a very forgiving plane--I love mine--wanna buy it???
