Sig Kougar vs Great Planes Patriot
Has anyone flown both of these models? What are the flight charactistic differences? Which do you prefer overall? Thanks, Terry M

RE: Sig Kougar vs Great Planes Patriot
I have flown two Patriots and two King Kobras. The King is the bigger version of the Cougar.
The Patriot is faster. It has a thinner airfoil. I think the King will land a litttle slower. It also will knife edge better and is better inverted. Sorry I can't give you the Cougar story but I thing the King and Cougar fly a lot the same.

RE: Sig Kougar vs Great Planes Patriot
Had a cougar for my second plane. flies great and is built like bullet. it can take quite a beating. i beleive it had washout built into the wingtips.
You could touch it down on the two main gear and hold the nose up like a jet airliner, landings were beautiful.Very straight tracking plane also.

RE: Sig Kougar vs Great Planes Patriot
The Kougar is a old design. It flys great but will build heavier
than a plane of it's square inches should. It's fast but not nearly as
fast a Patriot. The airfoil is much too thick for higher speeds.
The Patriot flys well and can be a handful if you are not used to
high speed.
If i was forced to choose between the two I would choose the Kougar
because in my opinion it's a bit more user friendly.
Just my $.02.
