Hitec vs Futaba trainer cords and boxes
I remember reading stuff about various combinations of Futaba and Hitec transmistters as the master and slave and various cords and there being some combinations that worked, and some that don't.
This weekend, I'm going to want to use a Hitec TX as the master, a Futaba buddy box as the slave, and a Futaba cord. Anyone know if that will work right? (I don't have the Hitec TX handy, and since I'm traveling, I won't have the option to pop over to the LHS for parts if I get this wrong, so it has to work the first time)
Thanks.

Just to let u kno, hitec focus 4 will not work with hitec Laser 4. Your radio starts to smoke. It has happened to me and a lot of people i kno. I'd be careful about using different brands with that trainer cord.

Which radio failed, the master or slave? Also, did you use a Hitec cord that was labeled as master/slave, or an unlabeled futaba cord?

RE: Hitec vs Futaba trainer cords and boxes
Hitec has a FAQ on thier site. I read it yesterday. They say that using a Hitec radio with a Futaba chord will cause two problems. The slave may transmit unintentionally. Or you could burn out the RF deck. This is just from thier web site. I am not familiar with this situation. I was under the impression it was ok to mix Hitec and Futaba radio's and chords. I may be wrong, and being this was off thier web site I would suggest you look into this matter to be safe. I looked at it as I was looking up specs on some servo's I want to buy. If you have a Hitec chord, there should be no problems. I hope this helps.
