Hey guys, I am on my final steps on building my Kadet Senior, and was wondering how do you balance a plane?

Default RE: Balancing a Plane

Hold it a the balance point on both sides of the fuselage.
The tail should not drop. It should balance or the nose should drop slightly.

FLYIN High in you instruction manual there should be a factory cg recommended.. top wings are done from the leading edge back from my experience, if you go to the top of the page once you find your cg ...go to magazines then how to's it should have what your looking for. also make it a point to have you instructor check it before you fly it

Do all the above, but use the CG suggested by the manual. If you dont have a manual, the CG is usually 28 to 30 % of the wing chord measured at the fuselage from the LE.
Or....U can do as I do
Tie a rope from your deck to the back fence very tight......hold the plane in your hand like a log.
Walk on the rope from the deck to the fence without falling ....hehe that's it...you're balanced

CG is usually 28 to 30
Actually 25% is a safe place to start for most planes. Getting back to 30% can make some planes pretty tail heavy.
