ARF covering/recovering
I have an ARF trainer by Phoenix models that I bought about a year ago. The covering on the plane looks terrible. It is mostly white but that has now turned to a dingy yellow. Also, it seems like the covering is shrinking. On the wings the ribs are beginning to stick out a bit and you can see the wood grain on the leading edge. Also, the covering is really fragile. I can take it to the field in perfect shape, fly it without incident, have nothing but the smoothest landings, and when I get home I find holes in the covering. My plane is beginning to look like a flying roll of packing tape. Is it normal for the covering to crack and yellow so soon? Also, I was thinking about recovering it, but on the fuselage they used this sticker type material and not covering. Can I get that off and recover?

You should be able to get that off. Covering lasts different lengths of time depending on which kind it is. The stick on stuff is pretty much crap from my experience. Pull it off and recover.

RE: ARF covering/recovering
when you recover make sure you light sand the intire plane to insure you got all that stick crap that the arf's hav eon th ere covering. Then if there any hdings in the balsa fill it wiht filler, sand the filler, wipe down the entire plane wiht take cloth and cover.
