I am supposed to be doing my A-test tomorrow - the test that allows me to go solo. However, at 12.30am it is raining like there is no tomorrow, the windi is howling away (kinda like it is laughing at me), and I have little hope of being able to fly given the weather forecast (the same forecast that yesterday told me there would be no rain tommorrow but now is happily proclaiming the continuation of this rain).

I feel your pain! For our club to let you go solo, you have to land/takeoff from both directions... which means a day when there is little or no wind. Then you have to have 2 instructors on hand, one of whom is supposed to be the Chief Instructor... add in work and family life...felt like I'd never solo!
