The Seduction Freestyle is a wonderful plane, but it is NOT good for a beginner!

Starting out with a kit is fine, but you need to start with a trainer.

Look at the Sig LT40, Great Planes PT40, or Goldberg Eagle. Those are good beginner kits. There are many more, but that will give you an idea of what to look for.

I would look at getting an ARF for a first plane. It will help you become familiar with the parts that make up a plane, engine and radio installation, flight set-up, etc., and best of all get you in the air faster. Look at the Kadet LT-40 ARF. It is an old reliable design that will help make your learning experience successful.

You can look at the the Seduction as a second plane and use it as your first kit experience. You can build it while you are learning on your trainer.

Best advice, find a club and an instructor.

I think that a kit is a good way to go. Not going to say its better or worse than ARF. But as I see it, you can get good "hands-on" experience with all the the components of an airplane. What goes into its contruction....plus you'll learn lots of building techniques and there is no better way to perfect your building than with your first trainer. Your next plane will be the product of your having ironed out the kinks beforehand.

The Seduction is not a plane to learn to fly on. Get one of the trainer ARFs such as the SIG LT-40 or Hobbico SuperStar.

I would stay away from the "package deals" ( RTF).

The reasons are as follows:

1. The engine, while USUALLY fine for a trainer, will have marginal power for a second plane.

2. The radio is usually a BASE LEVEL radio. Yes, it will do the job, but chances are you will outgrow the radio in a short time.

3. You usually CAN NOT MAKE ANY SUBSTITUTIONS.

I recommend the following:

1. Select an ARF you like the looks of (The MAJORITY of trainers fly the same). A flat bottom airfoil is usually preferred over a semi symetrical airfoil for beginners since the semi symetrical airfoil lands noticeably faster than a flat bottom air foil. When you are learning, SLOW and STABLE is what you want.

2. Get a decent ball bearing 46 size engine. Thunder Tiger Pro, OS FX/AX, and possibly the Evolution engines are extremely user friendly and normally run well right out of the box with no tinkering. Stay away from the OS LA line of engines. As for MDS, do a search on them and form your own conclusion on whether or not their nick names are justified. Another possibility is the GMS line. The GMS do require more "tinkering" than any of the others, but they are an inexpensive, very powerful engine.

3. Get a 6 channel (or more) COMPUTER radio. You will not out grow the radio for several years under normal circumstances.

Yes, this will cost more than a "package deal" (RTF) initially, but it will be cheaper in the long run.

Finally, Find a club and get an instructor. Teaching your self to fly has a steep learning curve and a first flight of USUALLY LESS THAN 30 seconds, which frequently results in damage to the plane and/or equipment on it.

HI! Guyz,
Hay! TKs! for the reply from everyone of you. Euch advice really made me want to get a plane and airbron fast. BTW I don 't need RTF anyway I 'm a heli flyer so as for Tx,Rx,Batt and so on........no problem. The only plane I think is a plane is Zagi( Belong to a frez ) had a few flight before so I don 't take it as a plane. All my flying is done on G2 heli or plane I had try most of the plane looks EZ to me I thinkBut had not try on the real things yet.[&:] And I think I 'll get the trainer kit first as a haedstart. TKs!

Well, now that you have told us that you fly helicopters, and G2, and it seems you've had a little time on the sticks with a Zagi. With this additional knowledge, I'm thinking that a trainer might be too easy for you.

If your friend (with the Zagi), or other plane pilots are near you, then you might be able to get something faster and more aerobatic.

Start out with an ARF and save the building for a couple planes down the road. There is a better than average chance your trainer is going to get some very rough flying. It wont be so hard onyou if it was an ARF that is getting beat up rather than a plane you have spent weeks building only to bust the front end off on a bad landing. I have seen many new pilots give up the hobby on stuff like this
