I have just recently got a 10 year old gas powered R/C plane and I have no idea how get it working... THe engine is called an OS-Max- I have a Futaba transmitter and a reciever thingy... I have a Battery Conditioner, Anylyser and Charger... I have a gas tank which is inside the plane. I believe the engine is siezed so I need help getting it unsiezed... I'm not sure I have everything that is needed for the engine to work like a silencer and fuel injector.
What do I need to get the engine going again aswell as where to put the servos!
Thanks!!!

Do you have any pics?
About the seized engine; remove the glow plug (spark plug-like thing on top of cylinder) and squirt some WD-40 into the cylinder and also into the carb and let it sit for about 15 minutes, then try turning the engine by the prop (by hand) and see if it has loosened up any.
Everything else can wait for pics or detailed description.

Do you have a heat gun??? take the engine out and carefully put it in a vise and heat it up till the oil loosens up and you can turn it over, then put some WD-40, alcohol (ya I know it has some water in it but been doing this for years) and keep working it till it once again moves freely.

Ive used an engine degreaser. The best thing is to do what the others said about the glow plug,But i would also take the round side cover off and the carb as well, since the bearing/bushing is on the carb side of most engines. pour some of the degreaser in those points. and slowly rock it back and fourth.it will free up. Also its a good idea to rinse it out good after with degreaser. This has worked awsome and fast on any of my engines that were froze. Hope it helps. Brad

Since it appears you know very little about R/C planes, be very careful when dissasembling any of the engine parts. When you put it back together, don't force anything that doesn't want to go and it takes VERY LITTLE torque to strip out a bolt/glow plug!

My reccomendation is to go to a club or flying field and ask for some help. The AMA's web site has te info on it you need to contact clubs in your area. There is so much you need to know. It is so much easier face to face. most clubs have people in it that would love to help you out. You will also get to know some nice people. Anyway you will get more help and quicker this way. If this is not available to you try posting individual questions here. You will get better answers. It will help us solve your problems easier. Good luck and welcome to the hobby and RCU.

PS: to unfreeze the engine. Try taking the glow plug (the hex head device with a pin in it on top of the engine)out. Take some penetrating oil or fresh fuel and put some down the hole. Open the carb up (use the little arm on the round inlet at the front of the engine) and put some in there as well. let it sit overnight and try to work it loose. Keep trying this until it spins free. If it will not then seek help. The servo's go in the cabin under the wing. They will mount on ether rails or in some kind of wood tray. If these are not there you will need to install a tray. You then hook up the control rods to them.
One last thought. See if there is a local hobbie shop in your area. Usually the proprieters can help you. Or point you too someone who can. once again good luck.
