Hi All,
Well I started to repair my Dazzler and I had a question...
The firewall/tank area basically just unglued itself at the joints(my ex-
trainer that gave me the plane had made a new nose after his 3 flight
crash) And all just fit in place and was clean.. so I scraped off any old
glue and epoxied all in place, It now looks just like it did before the
crash.. Anyway since it is the firewall also, or at least its attached to
it... Should I also glass the re-glued area?? All seems very strong and
solid.. But would hate to start the engine and have it take-off into my
car trunk or worse into someone or myself.. I imagine "new" epoxy
joints are very strong, But what about a repair job?
Thanks for any info:-)

Looking back at the pictures of the original damage, I'd say you're good to go. As long as you got those tri pieces to bond well to the former, there's not much more you can do that would add enough extra strength to warrent the extra work.
I say fly it.
But one note: Never stand in front of ANY engine that is running above idle! This is a good reson why. From your pic, the joint looks good. It may even look good in person, and may in fact BE a good joint. But supposing over time you gave the plane to someone else. And maybe they were not aware of the previous damage. And maybe the glue got brittle over time.
It's a lot of Maybe's, but maybe it's a good reason to never stand in front of an engine!

Thanks MinnFlyer,
I was going to wait to next week some time to start repairs.. Thought
I'd do some bonding with the "boss"... When I told her of my crash, her
only reply was... Guess you will be home now instead of being at the
field.... I did pretty good.... But was starting to get N.F.B.'s None flying
blues... Oh my LA-46 is running good after using the vise squeeze on
the sleeve... Pulled the old Avistar as it use too... But I never noticed
that the Avistar sure rolls and spins soooo slow...
Your right about not standing in front of reving engines, But sometimes
you never know where it may go or end up:-(.. Me the only time I'm in
front is when I'm starting it... And I "almost never stay in the prop line
either.. Thanks!!
