Default wind maps?

Searched weather.com and www.noaa.gov for any kind of prediction or current isobar type maps. (the lines you see on a weather map, the closer together they are, the more wind there is)

anyone have a site that has something like this bookmarked and wish to share?

Thanks,
RichD

did find this one though... several on the weather.com site under aviation

http://www.weather.com/maps/activity...nds_large.html

here is one with current winds, but its not really isobars on it, but the wind direction is dead on, were getting it from the north, which is odd

Hm-m-m. I was hopeful, but that second link isn't local enough to be of much help. Our winds locally right now are close to 15 to 20 MPH. But that map only shows 5 to 10 along the entire eastern seaboard.

The first link is more accurate looking regionally, as it shows 10 to 20 MPH forecast. Wonder how often the second site updates?

For the past year the surface wind forcasts at this link have been 90-95% accurate for our area.

Not as good as the one above, but it has some pretty good stuff on it.

Try this one too. Just change "newmexico" to your state I suppose.
