Servo Question

Hey guys,
I'm still a newb, so pardon my ignorance.
I bought a Seagull PC-9 kit.. First, let me say, its a good looking ARF. Easy to put together, despite the terrible instructions.
Well, the box for the plane said 4 channel 5 servo. The manual said 4 channel 4 servo. Well, I come to find out the OLD version (from what I understand) was 4 channel 4 servo and they still have the manuals from the old plane.
Well, I was going to buy a servo/reciever kit, but can't find one at my local shop with 5 servos.
A few questions here.
1. Are there particular servos I need for dual alerion systems or are they all the same??
2. Hobbytown wants $125 for a flight pack and then whatever they charge for an extra servo. They have a Futaba 6 channel computer radio with 4 servos for $180. Would it be worth me just going with the new radio??
3. How would I hook up 5 servos to a 4 channel radio??
4. Right now, Im using the transmitter for a nexstar. Is it even possible to use in flaperons (spelling) with this system?
Right now, Im trying to decide if Im limited with my Nexstar transmitter or not. Since I'm still new, I dont see why I would need 6 channels as of yet, but if Im going to be spending a good chunk of change in a flight pack, I might as well get a computer radio for $180 and buy and extra servo.
Any guidance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

Get the computer radio. There are so many things that you can do with it. As for the Servos, If the Radio you are going to buy is the Futaba 6EXA, you will get S3004 Ball Bearing servos. So buy another S3004 and all your servos will match.
Or, buy a cheapo servo for the extra an use it on the throttle. Two hook up to aileron servos with 4 channel you needa Y connector. To do it with the computer radio, you just put one aileron in channel one and one in channel 6 and turn on Flaperon mixing. You can also turn on a 2 -> 6 (Ele -> flap) mix for really tight loops.

You don't really need a computer radio. Just buy an extra servo and a "Y" adapter. $10 for the servo, maybe $7 for the "Y".
Connect the two aileron servos to the ends of the "Y", then plug the "Y" into the aileron channel on the receiver.
For Flaperons you'll need a computer radio. The Futaba 6EXA is a good, inexpensive, first computer radio and you can set up Flaprons pretty esily.
Good luck, and welcome to RCU.

Definitely go for the computer radio. A 6 channel is good, and if the budget will allow get one with more channels. You will most likely not be using the extra channels right now, but if you decide to use flaps, flaperons, retracts, smoke, etc you will need the extra channels. I also appreciate that you can store the settings for several planes in the same transmitter.
The 6EXA is a decent computer radio. Personally, I would spend a little extra money and get the 6XAS. Overall, I feel the 6XAS is a better radio. It has a more "solid" feel to it and doesn't have the "cheap" appearance of the 6EXA.
To hook up 5 servos to a 4 channel radio use a "Y" connector.
I have had excellent results with the following for servos and flight packs.

Hope this is of some help.
