Default Gaps in my Canopy

I am rebuilding an old plane of my dads, and I am putting in a WWII style canopy. But this is the first ever plane that I have had that uses a canopy, and I am having troubles with the gaps around the canopy...... I am currently thinking that I should permenetly but the canopy in, and put balsa fill in the gaps, but the only problem would be is when time to cover it, it would be difficult.... if you have any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

It's just the wrong canopy for the job. You can buy relatively plain canopies from Sig and other places. Looking at the top of the fuselage I'd recommedn that you call Tower Hobbies (or visit their website) and try to find a Kaos canopy.

Good luck,
Dennis-

Looks like that canopy doesn't fit too well. But if you really want to use it, you could glue some thicker pieces of balsa to the inside of the cockpit area. Then trim the canopy to the exact size and shape you want. Then carve and sand the balsa until it mates up to the canopy. It would be a bit of work, and you would have to be careful, but it could be done.

Good luck!
