Cowling Problems

I am almost done completing a JU-87 kit I bought from Skyshark. As I went to mount the nose cowling, I noticed it was exactly 1/16 to small around the whole nose. If anyone has any suggestions on how to maybee fix this problem please let me know.

I'm not exactly too familiar with the Stuka cowl but I believe it has cowl flaps for cooling. If it has enough of them in the right places you could cut them and display them in the open position. You can never have too much exit air for a cowled engine in any case. If the flaps are open wide enough you may gain a little more circumference for the rest of the cowl.

I've been thinking about this for you..
and as ball gunner has mentioned, not knowing can present a problem...
Stukas gennerally don't have 'cowl flaps, but they do have an air scopp underneath....
Here's a few thoughts:
Sand the inside of the cowl, and the outside of the fuse untill you get a tapered fit. reinforce the inside of the fuse as required: triangular stock, bits-o-scrap, etc...
Trim the cowl so it is flush with the fuse. Add a 'ring' around teh firewall that is slightly smaller than the fuse, to fit the cowl. Again, bits of scrap glued in place, and shaped to fit the cowl. Don't forget to put a few 'hard points / hard blocks' to accept the screws!
Trim the lower portion of teh cowl to vent teh engine compartment. this way the top, and sides of teh cowl can slip over the fuse, while the underside of teh fuse will hang a little lower then the cowl. You'll be mounting only three sides of teh cowl, not the intended four.

Thanks for all of your help, I am going to use the second suggestion of sanding down the fuse. The cowl flap idea would work perfectly if the cowl flaps were located on the cowl seam, they are actualy located on a lower lip area. Otherwise I would have used this suggestion. Thank you both for your help.
