I used the anti-freeze method. I had heard about it but never gave it too much thought until a friend of mine tried it. I put it in a pot and filled it with some cheap anti freeze and heated it until it just started to steam. I let it sit for 4 hours at this temperature. It worked really well.

i second that,i bought some of the gungiest engines you ever saw at an auction,they were in the pot for about 6 hours and came out like new,the wife went mad about the pan though!

Thank you for the anti freeze idea. How does this method affect o-rings in the carb. and needle valve? Does anything need to be removed from the engine / muffler other than fuel lines.
