How long ago did you get yours. Maybe you could try and send me the first part.

Blackwings,

2 parts made it fine. Very good scan job too! Thanks for taking the time. I looked over the plans and this is a plane I could build if I had the wings cut. Not much of a problem. Again, thanks.

Gerry,

You should have received it by now.
Are you using Supercity's webmail service or are you downloading the files directly to your computer?

I don`t know whats going on but no sign of the second part and my hotmail box is only 2meg.
using msn large file transfer would work but it is difficult to be online at the same time. The only other solution may mean telling me the cost to mail the rest and I can send the funds.

Gerry,

The e-mail address you gave me to send it to is not a Hotmail account, it is "[email protected]". I couldn't find any where on the Supercity website information about their e-mail box size. If you could receive the first two files for the sheet plans (4 megs + each) you should be able to receive these.

There seems to be some other problem. There not bouncing back to me, which they usually do if the receipient's mailbox is full.

Gerry,

I have another solution to get these to you. I am the webmaster for our club's website. I have uploaded them to the website server and you can go to this address: "[link=http://www.frederickmodelaircraftclub.org/sig_kommander.htm]http://www.frederickmodelaircraftclub.org/sig_kommander.htm[/link]" and download them 1, 2 & 3. If you right click on the ones you need and tell it to "save target as" you should be able to download them. Please advise once you have completed the downloads as I will need to get them removed as soon as possible. Good Luck!

Blackwings,
I know you have already done a lot of work on this but is there a chance I could get a copy of the Komander plans as well? I have some older Sig plans if there is something you are looking for.
thanks,
Rob

Rob,

I sent you a PM requesting an e-mail address in which to send them. I guess you didn't get it. I believe you stated that you had already gotten the build manual.

Just e-mail me or post here if you'd like, an e-mail address to which to send them.

Hello Guys,
Sorry about replying on such an old thread, but am hoping one of you still has copy of the fuse plan in .pdf for the MK II Komander.
I have a Komander (Mk I) unfinished that I originally started building in '82. It's destined to be completed by next spring (2017) and I'd love to have copy of the fuse plan which would be an update on mine. I have the original kit parts, but this version never came with plans; just a manual which I still have.

Fast forwarding to 2016, I've just earned my model wings on an LT 40 and looking forward to flying this more sporty Komander. I also want to consider adding retracts or building a 2nd retract version, possibly with electric power. (I plan to fly the MK I with a Como 40 which may have less than 5 hours of running on it from the '80's, but I do remember as a well behaved engine.). Yes, I had learned to fly RC back then (self taught) but my full scale wings and a PA28-140 kept me busy for the next 20 or so yrs. Living in smaller towns without suitable flying sites were also obstacles.
You can email plans to me at [email protected]
I'l'l post a reply and can also help anybody wanting info on my current Mk I build.

Island pilot ...did you ever get those plans emailed...I have a few sig planes a would like to build a komander. I hear the plans are not real "plans" and the wing is foam. I use CAD and would like to design the plane in digital and
use a built up wing. Would make it easy to blow up the size for a giant scale Komander.

No, I had asked a couple members to check if they still have some plans, but it appears that nobody has a complete "set". (not sure what really existed as the Mk1 Komander parts were printed directly on the balsa sheets.)
I can provide some dimensions from my partially completed model so you can create a new design that appears similar to the original Komander. How large do you want to go? What power are you contemplating?
My own interest is for a design with just a modest size increase in order of 1.20 scale ratio to be compatible with a 2-stroke 60 or an 82 - 90 four stroke. (A ratio of 1.19 yields a 74" span with approx. 912 sq. in of wing area.)
I'd consider installing retracts but also wish to keep things light for low wing loading and to achieve good aerobatic capability. PM me your email and I can send you details you require.

Derek

Hi Calvi,
pm me your email and I'll copy what I have from the manual. You may have to make your own canopy unless somebody has one available. Is your wing built already?

I built one in the early 90's, it was a bit fast(nose heavy) and maybe a little advanced as it was my second plane a Senorita being my first. It was also very hard to see, I don't know why it would be hard to see but the colors just seemed to blend into the sky.

I have a "new" Komander kit under the Christmas tree. Wife found it on ebay. They are getting rare!
It was my first RC model in 1984. I flew it for 10 years. Lost it to a power line. I still have the book and the one sheet of plans (and now a new kit). From what I remember you need the printed balsa to cut and place on the plan sheet to build the fuse. The book has full size prints of bulkheads, tail section, etc.

I think I will try and scan the printed side of the balsa and tape a set of "plans" together. Then go have those reprinted. I think if I can cut out the reprinted paper copies and transfer to blank balsa sheets I will be able to save the original balsa kit. The potential here is to be able to make cloned copies of the balsa on paper in order to reproduce the fuse.

For the wing I will measure out the cores, making templates for the ends at the correct orientation (built in warp) and wire cut a new set. Again, as many as needed.

Fiberglass Specialties makes the cowl. I'm working on the canopy (any ideas?).
