Default fuel tank size

Here is a silly question.
I have a Carl Goldberg freedom 20.
It requires a 4 ounce fuel tank.
My question is can I use a 6 ounce tank or will that be to heavy?

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you can cram it in there, you can use it. The tank weight isn't going to mess with anything. The weight of the fuel, while non-zero, isn't going to be huge either. I've put in over-size fuel tanks before with no problems.

That was fast!
Thanks for the advise.
I think I am going to put the 6 ounce in then.

I agree! The more fuel you can get in there the better. I had a Freedom 20 several years ago powered with an O.S. 26 Surpass. I can assure you the extra weight should be no problem.

What engine are you using for power? I just might build another one someday soon. It sure was a fun plane to fly!

Same engine actually. I am going to stuff a 6 oz. slant tank in it just to see what the difference in flight time is.

Good advice on going with the largest tank that will fit but keep in mind you need room for foam around the tank.

Difference in flight time will be an additional 50% with the 6 ounce tank over the 4.
