Default RX Batteries

How much of an amp draw do rx batteries take? I have some 1600 nimh batts that were used as flight batteries
in a few speed 400 models. They were okay but didn't have the ba**s for 10 to 12 amps of draw. I was thinking of
tearing apart these packs and making them into 4.8 volt RX packs.

250 mA's is about all a standard sport plane draws, so your NiMH's cells should be fine. (A servo that stalls due to binding could draw more, but it's doubtful you'd exceed the cells' amp rating.)

Just be careful, you can easily ruin the cells when trying to solder them.

Thanx Dennis. I didn't think they would draw over a couple of amps. Just made one now and I got it on the charger.
I've been soldering my own packs now for 3 years. I've gotten quite good at it. For all my electric planes, I've soldered my
own packs. Even Lipoly's.

So now I know where to go when I need a specialty pack made up.
