Default Servo linkage on ailerons

Hi all,
I was going to hook up flaperons on my 4*, So I could mix with my
elevator.. But my radio instructions say that the ail. servo linkage
must be on the outside for this to work and right now mine are on
the inside.. No problem to change it..... But why can't I just reverse
it from my radio? What am I missing here..
Thanks in advance for any info..... Have a Great Day!!

You are right. If the servo's clear each other just reverse one. There should be no problem.

It makes no difference where your servos are, inside or outside. What does matter is that you must have a seperate servo on each aileron to utilize them as both flaps and ailerons. How you mix is determined by the transmitter you use and mixes available on it.

First off, if you tell us which radio you have and how you have the servos physically hooked up. AS stated above, you need a servo for each aileron to make the flaps work. Provide a little more info and then we can help out better.

Hey Thanks, Well above, I said my ail. servo linkage was on the inside
and my Radio instructions said it should be on the outside... Anyway
I have a Air. RD 8000 and yes two servos.. I believe Mark answered
my question... I'm going to check it out soon... I just want to try and
use the mix to see if it'll allow my 4*60 to flat spin and (sort of)
elevator better.. Don't need it for landings, But I most likely will try
it just to see the difference..

This coming from a guy who dosen't have an airplane he can spin yet, but I didn't think flaps would help you spin...... I know a few degrees of flap will make an airplane more manuverable, but never heard of them helping with a spin. Thought that was all elevator/rudder and CG location...

Well... I don't know:-).... But a little elev/ail. mix and I was hoping
to get more lift from the wings... My CG is already at 4-9/16+.. It's
alittle touchy on landings... Right now when it stalls, I give it
full rudder/elevator(Do you need some throttle also???) and it
pretty much just drops the nose and spins downward.. So I goose
it alittle, and add full ail. too.:-) I also was hoping it would do
something for elevators too(not the control surface)... Even tho the
club member told me I pretty much got everything I can get from the
4* and you can do some mods. to help it but, I really need another
plane.... And the Funtana 90 and YS110 just adds up to be a little to
much at the moment... I've kind of faded away alittle from the EF
profile 540 edge/YS 63.. But we'll see... Have a Great one..
