you can use a 4 channel Tx/Rx on the LMH (lite machines heli) it is a non-collective simple 4 channel heli,,there is a LMH section in the Heli forums here...I have one but it is in pieces and at the bottom of the to-do list....its a good starter heli and fairly cheap on ebay...Rog

I already have a heli. I was wondering if i could use my heli ppm radio on a plane. I was also wondering if i used the receiver if there would be range issues.

It is just a staright 4 channel radio. No computer mixing.
I came with my 4ch Aerohawk. I need to know if it will work with a plane. 40-60 sized. I will probly have to buy a replacement receiver for the heli and use it on a plane to get the radio to work.

I would think that you can. Having said that remember you get what you pay for. Seeing as though the range for a micro heli is only about 500 ft I am sure the TX and RX are not of top quality and to expect not to have an issue somwhere along the way is a asking alot. If in fact the plane you plan on using it for isnt worth the time in putting a quality RX and TX into it then my all means try it what do you have to lose. But IMO I dont own a plane I would chance putting average electronics into so I would never chance those low end transmitters they give you with the micro helis.

.40-60 nitro air plane radios will require a greater range capability than micro electric helis
or park fliers. i wouldn't do it
air plane TX has a click feel on the thorttle. there's a little tab that is removed
from back inside for TX for helis.
the cylic is the same as air planes
heli thorttle mix with collective pitch for higher end helis.
rudder link to gyro for for heading hold capability.

Basically what luckey is try ing to say is that the supplied radio that came with is heli is the most basic 4 channel radio out there. Bare boned with all aspects that a cheap 4 channel radio for airplanes would posess. However it came supplied with his micro heli. THe throttle is ratcheded and looks and responds exactly as a normal 4 channel radio would except that it was supplied with his heli. Aside of it being the cheapest radio available range would be a factor along with the operating frequency make sure its on 72 mhz. some of the micro helis have the option to have a different MHZ freq. But like I said before I wouldnt chance it.

Yea for a park flyer it would because you cant let them get too far away from you before you lose sight. With a .40 or .60 size plane they can go farther faster and still be in good sight.
