Default Aileron Alignment

Finally getting back in to the sport and I need to check all the control surfaces on my old 4*40. Should the aileron's be level with the bottom or top of the wing when they are even?

Doesn't it have a guage that is lazer cut to set the ailerons. If I remember correctly mine was pretty much even with the bottom.

I set mine flush with the bottom, checking with a straight edge. I ended up making a 1/2 turn adjustment on one aileron to trim after the first flight. Now the plane flies great.

If you draw a line from the leading edge to the trailing edge, then the ailerons shoulld be on this line. Call it evenly spaced between top and bottom. In no case should they be lower. Above the line a small amount is OK. This would probably place then in line with the bottom surface.

I agree with Ed, Never below. I set them centered as close as possible. If not I shade to the top if I have too.
