Here's the story. Went to the field on Sunday morning with fully charged batteries in my 4* 60. While performing a range check, I notice that I'm getting some servo "chatter" at about 90' +/-. This is with the engine off and transmitter antenna down. I thought better of it and went home for the day. Checked it at home again later in the day, same results. I am using Futaba equipment, 3004's.
What is a good "range" before any interference?
Thanks for the insight.

See Futaba's FAQ...

Personally, I would re-measure your 90', sounds very close to 100 .... ;-)

sometimes if the pack is over charged or under charged, it'll glitch.
the ant wire should be isolated as much as possiable.
i try to rought mine so it dosn't touch servos or other wires.
i also makesure not to cross the ant wire.
i hope i don't get any interference for at least a mile.lol

Ok, thanks guys. After reading the FAQ portion of the Futaba website and listening to what you all are saying, I think I will be ok. For one thing, the antenna does run thru the fuselage to the bottom of the tail section, right at ground level, diminishing the signal somewhat. It was the first time that I had range checked my plane with a buddy standing right next to it for him to see the chatter. Always before, I would just walk out and see that I still had control surface movement and could not see any chatter. It may have always been there and just never noticed it.
Oh well, thanks for the help.

Also, if the end of your transmitter antenna was pointed at the end of the plane's antenna end, you will have the worst possible signal pattern for range. Very little signal is emmitted from the end of the antenna, and the end of the reciever antenna is not it's most sensitive point. Think of the radiation pattern as being a doughnut with the antenna going straight up through the middle.
