I PURCHASED A DU-BRO KWIK START GLOW PLUG IGNITOR, BUT IT DOESNT SEEM TO BE WORKING. I READ THAT I I MAY NEED A CHARGER BECAUSE THEY BATTERY MUST BE OUT. I WAS WONDERING IF THERE IS ANYWAY THAT I CAN USE A 12 VOLT CHARGER OR ANY OTHER TYPE OF DIVICE SO I CAN GET MY ENGINE GOING!? ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANKS

Most glow drivers have a rechargeable nicad battery in them which does need to be charged and then recharged periodically. There are chargers made just for that purpose; the charger plugs right into the glow driver like a glow plug does. This is the kind of charger that you should use. You can get, however, glow drivers which use a standard alkaline battery so that no charging is necessary. When the battery is discharged, you simply replace it.

They come uncharged so you will need to go back and buy the charger for it. It may have been cheaper to of bought the charger/glow drive in the set.

IF you have a power panel on your field box, there may be a 1.2 volt plug (looks like the top of a glow plug) that can be used to charge the glow igniter. Mine does.

DO NOT TRY TO USE A 12 V. It took me 3 plugs to find that out for myself....

Even better reason not to try to charge the starter with 12 Volts. Sometimes with too high a charge Voltage, a single 1.2 Volt cell makes a loud BANG with small pieces flying over respectable distances. I've been present at work when people put Nicads, NiMH and even Gell Cell lead acid batteries on too high a Voltage setting on bench top power supplies.
