Ok I have an alpha tainer 40 and well... I took it apart for an inspectrion do to the fact of a mishap... Well it was a RTF model so everything was installed for me. (the cheates way out) But. Im not to sure on the engin is supose to mount to the mount. I dont know if all four mount bolts are to be all the way tight or if the front two are to be more tight than the back. and I am also trying to mount it so that its staight but I have head that I may need some left (lift, force or something like that dont recall.) Any suggestions and if possible a diagram would be great. Thanks alot everyone.

If it has one of the "universal" engine mounts that use clamps to hold the engine in place, it should be clamped evenly front & back & the engine should be lined up as close as possible to dead straight. If you can't get it dead straight, make sure that any motor misalignment is to the RIGHT, not left (looking forward from the tail).

Sorry... I guess thats my mistake. I just thought I could put it back on the way I took it off... But as for the muffler... I was thinking that but being a newbie I didnt want to mess anymore up that I posiably could.

Don't use gorilla force on the strap screws. Just get them tight, yet not bend too far over the engine mounting lugs. Too often the overflexed straps will shear during flight vibration and the engine will fly away from plane; at least to the end of the fuel line. Once again, RIGHT thrust either from the preset firewall angle or adjusting engine angle on the mount.

The main jet is in the way of the right rear screw. To mount the engine, you have to put that screw in first, and partially tighten it, with the strap on. Insert the motor, and then the front screw. You will see how far you must tighten it to make the strap level or even when you tighten the front screw. It is trial and error until you get the rear screw tight enough that when you tighten the front screw, the motor is secure. The muffler needs to be removed to install the left rear screw. You are lucky, the mount "holds" the nylock nuts in place for you, saving you some time there. Use caution when removing the muffler so that you don't ruin the gasket. I have 2 of these planes, they work pretty well.
