indy,
Most clubs in the US do not charge for training if you are a club member.
It is considered a good jesture
if you give your instructor some kind of gift when you are finished with your training. It is not mandatory but usually well recieved. I gave mine a gift certificate to the LHS which he promptly went out and used.
I believe in giving the gift because most instructors usually go above and beyond

Indy, check out http://www.rcflightschool.com/ I very highly recommend David Scott and his school. For what you will invest in this hobby, and what you will take away from this course, it is money well spent.

Formal courses and schools are few and far between. I think I've heard of two.
Of course, here in the US, there are clubs all over, and most have instructors who wouldn't dream of taking money for helping you learn. At my club, two of us spend a lot of time teaching new students. One of us wears a T-shirt that proclaims "Will teach RC for beer". I've never seen him accept a beer for training, though.
Will you be wanting to learn at a location in Croatia? If so, and you can't find an instructor, there are lots of good ideas for self-learning, and the choice of equipment is important.
Let us know if we can help with that.
Good luck,
Dave Olson

Over the past 3 years I have and 6-8 students and only two thought enough of my time to give me a present. One took me to dinner when he soloed, the other gave me a transmitter neck strap. I will always remember the neckstrap and when I do finally WIN a contest, I will dedicate it to Walt!
